Walnut Acres values the fine arts as part of a well-rounded education. Music involves both creative right- brain activities and academic left -brain activities. Students receive two music lessons per week, which integrates the whole-brain approach. All other schools in the district have a music specialist one day a week. It is because of our parents’ support that Walnut Acres is able to provide music two times per week.

Third grade students engage in an entire year of learning to play the precorder, which also solidifies their ability to read music. The year culminates in a grade level concert, featuring the precorder, singing and dance.
